Sandra Tanner Biography

Sandra Tanner joined the Happy Feet “family” in 2006, and since then has been teaching ballet to children and teens.

Sandra has made a career out of “demystifying" dance for dancers, actors and non dancers for more than 25 years.  She teaches ballet, modern and jazz dance and choreographs for all ability levels.  Sandra has been on the College of Marin dance faculty since 1987 where she worked closely with director James Dunn as a choreographer on many musicals since that time.

Prior to that she was Assistant Professor of Dance at Wright State University, in Dayton, Ohio, for 4 years, where she helped create a dance scholarship partnership with the Dayton Ballet.  Sandra has choreographed over 20 fully produced musicals for colleges, theaters and opera companies.  She has also choreographed works for the concert stage for College of Marin, Wright State University, for Dayton Ballet II and the Dayton Opera.

Sandra’s talent as a choreographer and her warmth as a teacher contribute to the fact that Sandra is a wonderful addition to the Happy Feet faculty.
